Avraham "Son of-" Burg has decided to leave the Knesset. According to the Jerusalem Pest,
Officials close to Burg said he has accepted an offer from the London-based 3-i venture capital fund. His spokeswoman said the fund interested Burg because it would be investing in development areas.
That's right, Burg is leaving the Knesset to take up a very lucrative job in high finance not because of the money, but for the good of humanity. Very convincing.
Anyway, since like his Geneva partner Yossi Beilin, Burg does not regard the Knesset or the Israeli government as important for Israeli decision making, he can pursue is career while still running the country, unelected. Perhaps he will even find a bit more time for bashing Israel in Le Monde.
A sad loss to Israeli politics.
BACK IN BUSINESS
After a lengthy period of radio silence, I have decided to revive the Ribbity Blog. Recent world developments have shocked, outraged, moved, entertained and otherwise emoved me, and I sense a need for catharsis. Further comments shall ensue shortly.
